White Bear Assisted Living

White Bear (Carlyle) Lake Resort, Saskatchewan

One of Alton Tangedal Architect Ltd.’s earliest major commissions was a personal care home for the Standing Buffalo First Nation, near Fort Qu’Appelle, Sask. The 40 bed facility was the first of its type on a Saskatchewan First Nation territory. When representatives of the White Bear First Nation saw the facility, they too became interested in developing a care home of their own.

The result was White Bear Assisted Living, a 11,500 square foot, 24 unit care home located near a resort area on White Bear Lake. The facility features self-contained rooms, commercial cooking facilities, and two rotund skylights that permit natural light to enter the dining room and lounges.
